Understanding homeowners’ renovation decisions is essential for policy and business activity to improve the efficiency of the UK housing stock, 70% of which is owner-occupied. A novel conceptual framework has been developed and tested to explain household renovation decisions, with an emphasis on energy efficiency measures.
