TBC Curator talk
National Museum Cardiff - Clore Learning Room
Discover the connections between Wales and Japan through the wonders of the sea, get creative with a hands-on creative workshop led by artist Mari Wirth and learn more about maritime links between Wales and Japan from our curators.
Families, children, and curious adults are invited to explore marine life through gentle, tactile activities:
Print Your Own Sea Creatures
Try your hand at printmaking using shells. Experiment with colour, texture, and shape while learning about different marine species. Perfect for little hands and budding artists of all ages.
Make an Ori-hon Folded Booklet
Create your own four-page ori-hon—a traditional Japanese folded booklet—featuring your favourite marine creatures from Wales and Japan. Use collage, drawing, and recycled papers to bring your creatures to life.
All ages welcome
Ideal for families and young children (under 5s accompanied by an adult)
No booking required — just drop in!
Free, supported by the Embassy of Japan in the UK.
