About Creative Cuppa
Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, at our monthly Creative Cuppa.
Each event begins with a TED-style talk on Creative Cardiff’s monthly theme, followed by an informal hour to build relationships, share knowledge, and uncover new opportunities (with coffee and cake, of course).
October's Topic: Entry into music
Finding your place in the music industry
This October, we’ll be celebrating Cardiff Music City Festival with a special Creative Cuppa led by music journalist and broadcaster Sophie Williams.
Whether you’re looking to build a career in the music industry or keen to explore how to navigate a portfolio career in the creative sector, join us for a conversation about what it takes to build and sustain a creative career in Cardiff and beyond.
Sophie will explore accessible pathways into the industry, how to unlock and maintain valuable networks and connections, and the importance of taking Welsh music to the world.
Sophie Williams is a freelance music writer and broadcaster, born and raised in Cardiff. Former New Music Editor at NME, she is now on staff at Billboard UK and the BRIT Awards, and writes for The Guardian, The Observer, and Welsh language zine Klust, among other outlets. She is also a Mercury Prize judge and a regular guest across the BBC Radio network.
