Cardiff Business School is proud to host a special event featuring Jane Davidson, author of Futuregen: Lessons from a Small Country, and key architect of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, to reflect on the legacy and future of this groundbreaking piece of legislation.

This session will explore, from Jane’s perspective, how the Act came to be, its impact over the past decade, and what needs to happen next to embed its principles more deeply into our institutions, communities, and business practices.

Jane will offer insights into how the Act has influenced policy, education, and civic life in Wales and beyond, and will challenge us to consider the role we can all play in creating more just, inclusive, and sustainable futures. The talk will be chaired by Professor Tim Edwards, with a response from Professor Rachel Ashworth.

This event is part of Cardiff University’s commitment to futures thinking, as outlined in Our Future, Together, and aims to build capacity and understanding across disciplines. It is open to staff, students, and members of the wider business community.

Join us for this inspiring and timely conversation with one of Wales’ most influential voices in sustainability and public policy.
