Visualising Energy Supply Futures
- Wednesday 2 July 2025
- 10:00 - 13:00
- Audience: Open to the public
- Booking: This event is free

Where energy is produced and how it gets to end users is a significant topic of public discussion. These 3-hour workshops on July 2, and July 30, will use participatory techniques to collectively consider future energy supply systems.
The first workshop is tailored to our audience in Wales and will focus on addressing the country's future energy needs.
We will use some collaborative games and activities to think through energy opportunities such as 'shared ownership of power generation' and 'where supply networks should be planned'. Previously, we used this format to create the bilingual Climate Comic, so we know the format works well!
We intend to use the workshops to help us create open-source maps.
The second of the two workshops will link people from Wales and northern Pakistan - an area which has huge potential for energy generation which Dr. Aled Singleton, who will lead the session, has developed links through the WWF.
To take part you do not need a professional background in energy supply systems. Aled and the team will provide some starting points for discussion, such as a map of tidal energy proposals for the Severn Estuary, to trigger conversation and debate.
This Public Value Engagement Fellowship project is designed to develop new ways of working which deliver societal impact. Your participation and feedback will help us learn, and a short film will be made by Cardiff Business School.
After signing up we will send all the background details about participation and giving consent. For more information, please email Dr Aled Singleton on [email protected]
